Carl and Amy Kaiser
Ministry Description
From 2007 to 2018 Carl and Amy ministered in Antalya, Turkey at the Saint Paul Cultural Center. Carl functioned as a building manager who worked alongside the cultural center business as well as churches that met there throughout the week. Carl and Amy taught English, partnered with a Turkish pastor in a church plant (Carl as co-pastor), and coordinated a refugee relief ministry. In 2018 they returned to the US to address family needs. At that time Carl started to serve and minister to all of TEAM's 500 missionaries as Associate Director of Personnel. Specifically, he guides/manages missionaries on furlough (home assignment), those in any type of transition, or who need to take a health care leave. Carl is able to minister remotely from their home in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with travel on occasion. Amy supports their children while working part-time utilizing her nursing skills for home health care and being a taxi-mom.
Ministry Calling
Both Carl and Amy grew up in mission-minded churches that highlighted God's work throughout the world. Amy knew that she was called overseas even as a teenager. She went to Cedarville University to become a nurse and ministered in Jordan through Campus Crusade. Carl was also influenced by his church's focus on missions, but it was during college at Wayne State University where a connection with Campus Crusade led to a rededication of his life to the Lord as well as opportunities to serve on campus and overseas. After they were married, they applied to TEAM and were called to Muslim ministry in Turkey.
Family Life
Carl and Amy have four children ages 8 to 18. They love being parents and look forward to being grandparents someday. Carl is a handyman and keeps things running around the home. He loves discovering treasures (literally when in Turkey) through thrifting. Amy is a dedicated mom who is active in the local community and gives her all to care for others. They are blessed to be living in the home that Amy grew up in!
Prayer Points for Carl and Amy Kaiser
- Pray for the Antalya Evangelical Church with whom they partnered for the years they were in Turkey. They continue in earthquake relief work and have incredible opportunities to serve Turkish Muslims in the name of Christ.
- Pray also for the missionaries who are in Turkey. A very close friend of theirs was denied re-entry into Turkey after a conference in Europe, thus his entire family of seven is returning to the US after 16 years of ministry there.
- Pray for the marriages and families of missionaries. Car works with missionaries with crumbling relationships and families who are going through Satan's attacks.
- There is a special partnership with TEAM and the Nagaland region of India. TEAM has developed a program to identify, train, and appoint believers from this region to serve in other areas of the world. Some of these areas are hard for Westerners to visit.
- Pray also for Marianne (transitioning to Cornerstone in the fall) and Caleb who will be taking classes at GRCC and looking to find different part-time work.
