Ted and Ticiana Gordillo
Ministry Description
Ted and Ticiana have the joy to serve in Quito, Ecuador where they bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all sectors of society and make disciples throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, their ministry strategy is simple: WIN people to Christ, BUILD them up in their faith, and SEND them out to make disciples of others. Their principal ministry role is to directly invest in the lives of staff, pastors, and local leaders through personal care, leadership development, and solid Biblical and theological training. They accomplish this in a number of ways including counseling, discipleship, mentoring, and in-person and online Bible classes. The goal is to raise up a new generation of faithful Christian leaders to serve throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
Ministry Calling
During college Ted and Ticiana were both actively involved with Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ), and had the opportunity to participate in various short-term mission trips. Through these experiences, God placed in their hearts a desire to make disciples of all nations, and they were convinced that God was calling them into international missions. After college they got married and began working in their respective careers, Ted a math teacher and Ticiana as a high school counselor. During that time they prayed, waited on the Lord and pursued a number of mission options that didn’t work out. After five years, a couple from their church serving in Melbourne, Australia with Cru shared about their ministry to university students. They met with them personally and they challenged them to come join them in Australia. God began working in their hearts immediately and orchestrating the details for them to go. A year later they left on a plane to join them in Melbourne, completing nine years of campus ministry there. Since leaving Australia their ministry focus has changed, and they are currently based in Quito, Ecuador providing biblical and theological training and development for Cru in the Latin America and the Caribbean area.
Family Life
Ted and Ticiana have four children. Their oldest two sons, Caleb (20) and Gabe (18), attend Liberty University, and their two daughters, Isabel (15) and Daria (6) are still at home with them. They love serving the Lord together as a family and exploring wherever God takes them, especially trying new and different foods, hiking, and spending time at the beach. They also enjoy music, movies, board games, and just spending time with friends and family.
