Exempt, Full-time, Salary, 4-day office week plus responsibilities on Sundays. Some evenings required.

Role Summary:
The primary focus of the Worship Pastor is the cultivation of a culture of praise that is visible and tangible in all areas of ministry at Grace. The first place this culture is seen and experienced is during our Sunday Morning congregational service. The worship pastor would then focus on developing others to mobilize them for leading in other core ministries of GCC. This ministry is shaped through the collaboration and leadership of the Lead Pastor and his study of God's word. He organizes and leads the musicians and artists in the church to utilize their artistic gifting for the joy of the church and the exalting of Christ.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:
- 8-10 years of overseeing, developing, and leading worship teams through music in a congregational setting
- Certification or degree in a related field and/or advanced training in biblical Christian theology or biblical leadership
- Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Proven track record of effective leadership, judgment, and good moral character
- Proficient in electronic tools - Experience using Planning Center Online, ProPresenter, and other related software.
- Has a working knowledge of running tracks through either Ableton, Prime, Playback, etc.
Requirements:
- He must be a mature Christian with a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and the character of an elder (1 Timothy 3, Titus 1).
- Strong vocal and musicianship - Able to lead worship from an instrument.
- Able to write and arrange music charts as needed.
- Be willing to become a member of Grace Community Church and fully integrate into the community.
- Work location: Hudsonville, MI 49426; therefore, he must reliably commute or relocate.
- Pursue continuing education and growth in music ministry.

- The Worship Pastor is responsible for the planning and coordination of the orders of service for all scheduled meetings of the church. This involves planning with the Lead Pastor to produce corporate worship free from distractions where God’s people are led to encounter Him and inspired to exalt Christ through praise.
- He spends time understanding the vision of the Lead Pastor for what the main point of the sermon/series will be. Then selects songs that prepare our hearts to receive the word and to respond with praise to the preaching of the word. He maintains a breadth of exposure to music of all genres to be able to discern the best application of songs and visual aids to use in the corporate worship of King Jesus.
Training and Discipling: 30%
- The Worship Pastor recruits and develops the musicians of the church to cultivate a heart for worship and the development of gifts.
- He trains team leaders in GCC’s vision and philosophy of worship/praise.
- He spiritually disciples and artistically mentors the worship teams.
- He oversees the planning and scheduling of the worship teams.
- He oversees the technical areas of the sanctuary and staffs the necessary personnel for scheduled services.
- He proposes and coordinates equipment improvements and mentors the development of the technical team.
Congregational Care: 10%
- The Worship Pastor spends time with church members and regular attenders, strengthening the believers, and visiting and welcoming newcomers as assigned.
- He is responsible for other ministry oversight as assigned by the elders.
Connections and others: 10%
- The Worship Pastor seeks out opportunities for connection with other worship leaders to know and learn from and grow in relationships.
- He is responsible to organize/host worship events and other artistic presentations for the edification of the body and to introduce the ministry of Grace in exalting Christ.
- He is available for preaching, teaching, counseling, weddings, funerals, etc. as needed.
Personal Renewal and Devotion: 10%
- The Worship Pastor does not let ministry crowd out his personal walk and renewal before God. He has moments of personal retreat, prayer, solitude, and meditation on God's word.
- He will engage in accountability relationships with the elders of the church and with godly mentors outside the church.
- Invests regular time with other pastors and the pastoral team for mutual encouragement and fellowship.
